So, feel free to add or subtract any ingredients, change the directions, and whatever else must be done so that you may create your very own “perfect burger”.

The Perfect Recipe:

The “perfect recipe” is much more of a baseline to put you on the right track as you begin the journey of creating your “perfect burger”.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Your choice of toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until well combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties that are about 1/2 inch thick.

  3. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Don't press down on the burgers while cooking, as this will release the juices and dry out the meat.

  4. Toast the buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.

  5. Assemble your burgers with your desired toppings and enjoy!
